Fire Breathing Dragons

Friendly fire breathing dragons that will take your breath away.

Craft Project Directions:
Cut out a dragon and a breath full of fire from a heavier weight paper using the templates provided.

Attach the fire to a small craft stick at the end to create a tab that you can pull in and out.

Next cut a slit in your dragon's mouth that you can slip the fiery breath through and slide it back and forth.

Now decorate your dragon with tissue paper scales, cotton ball or paper eyes, color him with crayon, and add other materials.

Candy Cane Rudolph Ornament

A delicious addition to any Tree!

Craft Project Directions:
To make this ornament you will need two candy canes, 2 pipe cleaner, a piece of ribbon, and some construction paper.

First create a heart shape with the two candy canes- placing the bended ends together. Tape them in place. This is the head of your reindeer. Next take a pipe cleaner and cut it into 2 and 3 inch lengths.

Now take another pipe cleaner and bend it into a V. Twist the smaller pieces of pipe cleaner you cut before around the pipe cleaner V you made to make reindeer antlers.

When you are finished making your antlers, tape or twist them around the corners of your candy cane reindeer head.

Now decorate your reindeer's face by adding a red construction paper ball (or use a red hershey's kiss) to the V at the base of the candy canes for a bright shining nose and glue construction paper eyes (or googly eyes) on either side.

Loop a piece of ribbon through the top of the heart and hang on your tree.

Craft Project Directions:
To make this terrific table turkey, first take a sizable amount of tin foil and mold it into an oval shape to make a body for your turkey.

Cover this with brown tissue paper. Next cut out turkey feathers in a variety of different colors and attach them to a small piece of pipe cleaner, leaving the end of the pipe cleaner exposed.

Cut out a head and beak for the turkey using the templates provided and attach them to the front of the turkey's body with glue or tape.

Decorate the feathers and let them dry. Now stick them into the turkey's body to make a terrific turkey. If you want glue on more feathers to the turkey's body as well.

Create some fabulous trees and have a lot of fun!

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need squeeze bottles, tempera paint, brown construction paper, colored construction paper, wax paper, glue, and newspaper.

To begin lay out newspapers on your work space. Fill your small squeeze bottles with paint. Select a colored piece of construction paper for a background.

Cut out a tree trunk out of your brown construction paper and glue it to your background.

Now squeeze small amounts of paint (different colors) above the tree trunk.

Next lay wax paper over the entire picture and press down so the paint colors mix together.

Leave as is over night. The next day remove the wax paper from the picture.

Carve a Cool Pumpkin this Halloween!

Craft Project Directions:
How to Carve a Pumpkin!
To make a cool carved pumpkin this Halloween you will need a pumpkin (evenly shaped and medium size), a design to carve, tape, a nail, a potato peeler, a paring knife, a larger knife, newspaper, and a solid large spoon. You will also need an adult to help you with the carving.

To begin, wash your pumpkin with a little soap and water and then pat it dry. Next spread out a lot of newspapers covering your whole pumpkin carving area.

The first thing you want to do is to take the top of the pumpkin off. Take your larger knife, insert it in the top of the pumpkin with a slight angle towards the center, and cut around the stem. Cutting the top this way you will have a top piece which is wider at the top then the bottom and won't fall in. Next scrape out the insides of the pumpkin with your solid large spoon. Be sure to get all the strings and seeds out, and scrape the walls of the pumpkin so they are thinner, rather than thicker.

Now take your design and transfer it to your pumpkin. If you have the design on paper, tape it to the pumpkin. Then take a nail and poke holes through the paper into the pumpkin to create the design on the surface of the pumpkin. Once you have finished doing this, take your paring knife and connect the dots!

Now you are ready to carve your pumpkin. Be sure to have an adult do this part! and always have them carve the pumpkin with the knife cutting away from themselves! Start carving your pumpkin by carving in the middle of each feature and then pushing the carved pieces into the pumpkin and then removing them.

Once you are finished carving, you can also add some fun props to your pumpkin! Consider adding hats, scarves, painted features, etc. Have Fun!

Now thread the pipe cleaner Book Worm through the apples so the curved tear drop part ends up on top.Next cover the curved tear drop part with glue.

Select a colored pom-pom for the head of your Book Worm and press it into the glued pipe cleaner. Let your bookmark dry and then put it to work!

To make this craft project, you will need colored construction paper, a black marker, pipe cleaners, a hole puncher, and some glue or tape.

To begin using the templates, cut out several flower shapes (any color)and a bumblebee shape (yellow for the body, white paper for the wings).

A great and easy way to preserve flowers!

Craft Project Directions:
To make sand dried flowers you will need a cardboard box, sand, scissors, freshly picked flowers, drinking straws, pipecleaners, green construction paper, and white glue.

To begin, fill your box halfway full of sand. Next cut away most of the stem from each flower. The remaining stem should be as long as your middle finger. Now, push the stem of each flower into the sand, and then sprinkle a thin layer of sand over the flowers. Make sure to cover them completely. Place the box in a dry place and let the flowers dry for two weeks. When the flowers have dried, carefully tilt the box and pour the sand on top out. Carefully lift out the flowers.

Now you can use drinking straws for stems for your flowers(or purchase green floral wooden sticks), just carefully attach the flowers to the stems with pipecleaners. Cut out leaves from your green construction paper and glue them onto the stems.

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need colored construction paper, a colorful pipe cleaner, scissors, crayons, and other materials to decorate your Airplane bookmark.

To begin cut out a simple banner shape using the picture provided as a guide or create a dashing banner shape of your own using your imagination. This will trail behind your airplane.

Now select a colorful piece of construction paper and cut out the airplane. The color you choose will be the dominant color of your boat.

You could also use a heavier weight piece of paper if you wish to make a more sturdy bookmark. You can use the template at the address below as a guide.Decorate your airplane and the streaming banner. First clean and dry the can. Now paint it a bright color.

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need white construction paper, yellow construction paper, a colored pipe cleaner for a stem, scissors, tape, and glue.

To begin take your white construction paper and cut off a small square. Bend it into a small cone. Leave just enough room at the point of the cone to slide a pipe cleaner stem into later. Tape or glue the cone together so it holds its shape.

Next trim the white paper cone so the top of the cone is level. Now take your scissors and cut straight into the cone vertical cuts all the way around the cone. The cuts should go the length of the cone, leaving about 1/2 uncut.

Repeat with a second square of white paper. Now stack your cones one on top and inside the other. Twist the top one so your petals look full all the way around.

Now insert the colored pipe cleaner into the base of the flower and glue or tape it in place.

Next cut out a small yellow circle and tape or glue it to the center of your daisy. Make a whole bouquet.

Do you think you can lure a leprechaun into an inverted cone trap? Give it a try...

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need a small box, string, scissors, tape, glue, markers or crayons, glitter, and colored construction paper.

To begin take your box and cut a hole slightly larger than a quarter in the top- you will insert the bottom of your cone into this hole. Next squirt some glue through the hole and pour in some glitter so when you look into the hole you see sparkling glitter which will look like elf treasure to the unsuspecting leprechaun.

Now take a piece of green construction paper, bend into a large cone (a large funnel shape), secure it with tape, stick the small end into the hole in the box and tape/glue in place. Use the picture as a guide.

Next take a length of string and knot it every inch and attach one end to the top of the inverted cone- this is a ladder for the leprechaun. Now decorate your trap with colored paper, glitter, crayons and markers, St. Patrick's Day symbols, and be sure to add signs which say things like 'No Leprechauns Allowed', 'For Eleves Only', 'Only Elf Treasure Allowed Beyond this Point', etc.

Let dry and place your trap in a good leprechaun catching spot. With any luck a leprechaun will see your trap, think it's an elf treasure hiding place, climb up the side of the cone, and when he sees the glittering gold at the bottom lose his balance and slide into the box where he will be trapped. First cut out a white face, black hat, black boots, some small black buttons, and 2 white hands . Next cut 4 lengths of green crepe paper- however long you wish your leprechaun's arms and legs to be.

Next take a piece of green construction paper and roll it into a tube shape- this will be the body of the leprechaun.

Now attach the crepe paper arms and legs to the top and bottom sides of the tube. Add the hands and boots to the ends of the crepe paper. Decorate the leprechaun face - add fun features, an orange beard, a hat, and whatever else you like.

Let it dry and attach it to the body tube. Now decorate the body - add the buttons and maybe a shamrock or two.

Sometimes the simplest trap works the best - here's a classic Leprechaun trap!

Craft Project Directions:

To make this project you will need a small box, green and yellow construction paper, foil, glue, tape, scissors, a markers or crayons, green jello, a plastic container for the jello that fits in the box, green tissue, and small gold coins or something else small and sparkling.

To begin take your box and cover the outside with green paper. Next cut out tiny shamrocks and gold coins from your construction paper and jewel shapes from your foil and glue them on the outside of the box to decorate it.

Make the green jello with an adult's help - be sure to put something gold or sparkling in the bottom of the jello container- this will attract your leprechaun and when he tries to reach for it he will fall and sink in the jello and be trapped.

Now flip your box over and decide where you want to place your trap. Once you have the perfect location, place the jello container there. Pack the area around the jello with green tissue so it looks level and the leprechaun can easily walk across it. Around the jello pit, place objects to entice the leprechaun - a small cup filled with lucky charms, a tiny chair, etc.

First, you will need the following ingredients:

7-8 ounces of white glue
Green Food coloring (if you want to make green)
1 cup of water
Borax

How to Put It All Together:

Mix together the glue, green food coloring, and 3/4 cup of water in a mixing bowl. Take another bowl and mix together 1 tablespoon of borax and 1/4 cup of water. Add the borax mixture to the glue mixture until a goo blob forms. Remove the goo blob. Repeat the process with another borax mixture and keep repeating until the glue mixture is gone. When you are finished, knead the blobs of goo together and store in an airtight container. Take out and play!

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need a paper cup, green tissue paper, tape, a red pipe cleaner, black construction paper, white paper, green construction paper scissors, glue, and crayons.

To begin, take your tissue paper and cut a long rectangular piece. Wrap this piece around your paper cup completely covering the outside. Tape or glue the tissue paper so it won't shift. Flip your cup upside down and set aside. This will be your frog's body.

Next cut out some fabulous frog legs for your frog. You can use your own imagination or the templates provided at the address below.

Cut out the frog legs from green construction paper- make sure you cut out four of them. Attach the large ones to the sides of your cup and the small ones to the front. Use the picture as a guide. Also cut out a large and wide triangle for your frog's mouth. Tape or glue the mouth in the center of the frog.

Cut some large frog eyes from the white paper and attach them to the front of the cup.

Next take your black construction paper and white paper and cut out a very simple black bug body and white bug wings. Assemble your bug and set it aside.

Next take your red pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Attach the bug to one end and attach the other end to the frog's mouth in its center. This will be your frog's tongue. Twist the pipe cleaner so it looks like the bug is flying past your frog.

Now decorate your frog further with crayons. Add more facial features and decorations- whatever you wish!

To begin wrap your box in pink paper - this will be your poodle's body.

Attach 4 cups (with the open side facing down) to the bottom corners of the box to create poodle legs. Cut a slit large enough for Valentines to slip through in the top of the box.

Next cut two large pink hearts - one slightly larger than the other. One heart will be the tail and one with form the poodle's head. Use the picture as a guide.

To begin cut a large square from the red cellophane using your scissors. Next take two chocolate kisses and hold them so the botttom are together - this is your basic flower shape.

Create a cute arctic friend with the simplest of materials. You might want to also make a little scarf to help him to stay warm!

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need two styrofoam cups, black construction paper, yellow, construction paper, white paper, scissors, glue, tape, crayons, and cotton balls.

To begin take your styrofaom cups and put one on top of the other so the tops are facing. Tape them together. This will be your penguin's body.

Next cut out two penguin wings from your black construction paper. They are the shape of pointed tear drops. Use the picture as a guide.

Glue or tape them to the sides of your penguin's body. Next cut out a bright yellow triangle for a mouth and two bright yellow webbed feet. Tape or glue the feet to the bottom of the bootom cup so they stick out. Glue the penguin's mouth onto the front of the cup.

Next cut out black and white construction paper eyes and glue them onto your penguin. Now decorate further if you wish!

Add cotton ball fur with glue, crayon features, feathers, a tissue paper scarf. You decide!
