Paper Plate Scarecrow Face


Today's Craft:
Paper Plate Scarecrow Face 

Make a simple and sweet scarecrow face.

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need a paper plate, straw or raffia, glue, scissors, and colored construction paper.

To begin, take your scissors and cut out some circles for eyes, a triangle nose, and some curvy lines for eyebrows and a smile from your colored construction paper. 

Next take your glue and cover your paper plate with it. Add straw or raffia on top of the glue, covering the plate. Now add your scarecrow's facial features. Let dry.

Get your fingers really messy and create a fabulous apple tree.

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need a washable red ink pad, green and brown construction paper, glue, scissors, and a background piece of paper.

To begin using the templates provided cut out a brown tree trunk and large green tree leaves.

Glue them on a background piece of paper to create an apple tree shape.

Now it's time to add the apples! Open up your ink pad, press your finger tips onto it and then onto to the tree you just created. Cover your tree with apples!

Flying Owls

Flying Owls 

A fair and wise feathered friend.

Craft Project Directions:
Cut out an owl and owl wings using the templates.

Attach the wings to the owl with brass fasteners if you want the wings to flap or with tape and glue if you want them to just stay in place.

Tape or glue your owl onto the end of a craft stick or dowel and decorate with feathers and other materials.

Next place a piece of paper over the sandpaper.

Now rub on the top piece of paper over the sandpaper with your crayons and you will create a great starfish crayon rubbing.

Paper Mosaics

Paper Mosaics 

Make a cool paper mosaic!

Craft Project Directions:
To make a paper mosaic you will need colored gummed papers ( the super shiny kind), drawing paper, a pencil, a pin, scissors, a sponge, and a cup of water.

To begin lightly draw a design on the drawing paper with your pencil. Next cut the colored paper into small squares of different sizes. Sponge a little water over the pencil design. Pick up each of the paper squares with a pin. Put down on the drawing paper following your design. Press a damp sponge lightly on each square as you put it on.

Bumblebee Pencil Topper


Today's Craft:
Bumblebee Pencil Topper

Add flair to your pencil with a beautiful buzzing bee

Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project, you will need colored construction paper, a black marker, pipe cleaners, a hole puncher, and some glue or tape. 
To begin using the templates, cut out several flower shapes (any color)and a bumblebee shape (yellow for the body, white paper for the wings). 
Take the flower shapes and punch a hole in the middle of them and slide them down over your pencil top. Take a pipe cleaner and wind it around the pencil below the flower shapes to hold them in place. 
Next glue the white wings of the bee onto the yellow body and strip the bee with your black marker. Now attach a pipe cleaner to the bee, either using tape or by poking it through the bee. 
Attach the other end to the pencil by winding it around the pencil either above or below the flowers.

Sand Dried Flowers


Today's Craft:
Sand Dried Flowers

A great and easy way to preserve flowers!

Craft Project Directions:
To make sand dried flowers you will need a cardboard box, sand, scissors, freshly picked flowers, drinking straws, pipecleaners, green construction paper, and white glue.

To begin, fill your box halfway full of sand. Next cut away most of the stem from each flower. The remaining stem should be as long as your middle finger. Now, push the stem of each flower into the sand, and then sprinkle a thin layer of sand over the flowers. Make sure to cover them completely. Place the box in a dry place and let the flowers dry for two weeks. When the flowers have dried, carefully tilt the box and pour the sand on top out. Carefully lift out the flowers.
Now you can use drinking straws for stems for your flowers(or purchase green floral wooden sticks), just carefully attach the flowers to the stems with pipecleaners. Cut out leaves from your green construction paper and glue them onto the stems.

Shell Comb

A super seashore craft you are sure to love!
 

Craft Project Directions:

To make a shell comb you will need a comb, some white glue, and some small seashells.

To begin, squeeze your white glue onto your comb. 

Be sure to cover the entire top of the comb. 

Let the glue dry for several minutes. Now place small shells on top of the glue. 

Make your own cool design. Let dry completely before use.
