To make this craft project you will need a paper lunch bag, red and yellow paper, scissors, tape or glue, and markers or crayons. To begin take paper bag and cut the top half off- making your bag about half the height it was originally. This is your mailbox. Today's Craft: Groundhog Paper Bag Puppet
Create a simple groundhog puppet from a paper bag.
To make this craft project you will need a brown paper lunch bag, white and black paper, glue, scissors, and crayons or markers. To begin cut out two round circles for eyes and one round circle for a nose, two small ears, and two small white rectangles for teeth from your colored paper. Next flip your paper bag over so the bottom of the bag is facing up- the bottom of the bag will become your groundhog's face. Now take the features you cut out and assemble them on the paper bag- gluing them in place. Use the picture as a guide. When you are done, let your puppet dry and then decorate it further with colorful crayons or markers.

Easy Chinese New Year Paper Lanterns

Today's Craft: Easy Chinese New Year Paper Lanterns
Create some simple paper lanterns from colorful construction paper.
To make this craft project you will need colorful construction paper, scissors, a stapler, and markers. To begin take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Now hold the paper so the fold is facing you. Next take your scissors and make vertical cuts all along the fold leaving an inch at either end and about 1/2 inch between cuts. Next unfold the paper and bend into a roll lengthwise and staple the top edge together and the bottom edge together to create your paper lantern. Next take another piece of construction and cut a paper strip to staple to the top of your lantern as a holder. Decorate more with markers if you wish.

Cut out a dragon and a breath full of fire from a heavier weight paper using the templates provided. Attach the fire to a small craft stick at the end to create a tab that you can pull in and out. Valentine Mailbox : Pink Poodle

Today's Craft : Valentine Mailbox : Pink Poodle
Create a fabulous pink poodle Valentine mailbox for your Valentines!
To make this craft project you will need a box, pink construction paper and/or pink wrapping paper, pipe cleaners, tape, glue, scissors, cotton balls (white or pink), 4 small paper cups, and markers. To begin wrap your box in pink paper - this will be your poodle's body. Attach 4 cups (with the open side facing down) to the bottom corners of the box to create poodle legs. Cut a slit large enough for Valentines to slip through in the top of the box. Next cut two large pink hearts - one slightly larger than the other. One heart will be the tail and one with form the poodle's head. Use the picture as a guide. Attach each to a pipecleaner and cover with cotton balls before attaching them with tape to either end of the box. Add small hearts for eyes on the poddle's head. Valentine Chain of Love

Today's Craft: Chain of Love
Make a wonderful chain of love linking the names of everyone about whom you care!
Create a Valentine Chain of Love and Remembrance with your children and rekindle the spirit of love, kindness, and family. This is also a fun way for kids to learn more about their family members, distance relatives, and people in their community. To make this craft project you will need colored construction paper, a piece of red construction paper, a hole puncher, crayons and markers, a piece of ribbon, tape or glue, and scissors. First take the colored construction paper and cut paper strips about an inch wide and 6 or 7 inches long. Write the names of those you care about and/or your relations or family ancestors on the paper strips and bend them into paper loops. Share your memories and vivid stories about these people and experiences you had together as you write them down. Talk about members of the community that touch your lives everyday and include them as well. Next interlock one paper loop inside the next to make a long paper chain. Next cut out a large paper heart from red construction paper and a smaller one from another color. This will be the centerpiece of your chain. Glue the smaller one on top of the larger and punch a hole in it near the top. Now thread a piece of ribbon through it and attach the heart to the paper chain you just made. Write a loving message on the heart. Hang and display your chain someplace special!

Insert the message into the bottle. Now take the aluminum foil and make a large foil heart with a base that will cover the opening of the bottle. To make this craft project you will need a paper plate, glue, a pipecleaner, tape, scissors, markers, and either colored paper or real candy hearts. To begin take your paper plate and cut out the center to create a wreath shape. Next take your pipecleaner and cut off a small section, bend it into a U and tape it to the back of the wreath shape you just created to create a hanger for your wreath. Now you can either cover the front of your wreath with glue and real candy hearts or glue and paper hearts to which you will add messages with your markers. You decide. To make this craft project you will need twigs, colored construction paper, markers or crayons, string or ribbon, tape, glue, and scissors. To begin take a large piece of paper, roll it into a tall tube, and secure its shape with tape. Next take your twigs, poke small holes through the upright paper tube using your scissors, and insert the twigs so they become your tree's branches. Cool Crepe Paper Valentine Heart

Today's Craft: Cool Crepe Paper Valentine Heart
Create a wonderful crepe paper heart with crepe paper and pipecleaners.
To make this craft project you will need colored crepe paper (red, pink, or whatever you wish), a number of red pipecleaners, and some scissors. To begin, take some of your red pipecleaners and lace them together to create a long length. The bigger the length, the larger your heart will be. Now cut a long piece of crepe paper and push and weave it onto the pipecleaner section so it creates beautiful, colorful crepe paper folds. Fill up your pipecleaner this way, leaving about 1/2 inch at each end empty. When you have done this, bend the pipecleaner into a heart and twist the ends together securely. Happy Valentine's Day. Bold Bottle People

Today's Craft: Bold Bottle People
Make neat characters from old bottles!
To make an interesting collection of bottle people, you will need a number of old empty bottles - any shape or size - ping-pong balls, glue, string or paper shreds, tissue paper or pieces of cloth, construction paper, scissors, paints, and a paint brush. To begin, wash out your old bottles completely and let them dry. Next take a bottle and ping-pong ball and glue the ball to the top of your bottle. Next take your string or paper shreds and cut, trim, and glue either to the ping-pong ball to create hair. Next take your tissue paper or cloth and wrap pieces of it around the bottle to create colorful clothing. Add arms cut out of construction paper to your bottle as well (you could also use pipecleaners to create bendable arms). Now paint the ping-pong ball to create facial features and add other details as you wish. Enjoy Crafting!
